Workshops
Academic Workshops: In a joint venture with graduate students from the Learning Services Department, peer educators co-lead workshops on various academic topics such as time management, procrastination and study skills.
Workshop/Consultation Services: Under the supervision of staff psychologists, Peer Counselors/Educators form collaborative relationships with student organizations and serve as consultants. In this role, peer educators aim to first assess some of the unique needs of the organization and then, based on this assessment, provide workshops to address these concerns. Emphasis is placed on working with student organizations that represent multiculturally diverse populations. Topics of these workshops are mutually decided upon by peer educators and members of the organization. For more information contact Dr. LaVonne Browne at (703) 993-2380.
Future Workshop Endeavors: During the 2010-2011 academic year, PEP will be expanding it workshop services to provide workshops in the areas of diversity training and stress management. Contact Marlena Wu at mwu4@gmu.edu for more information.
